My body has given up
These last couple months have been rough on me. I’m usually very healthy. The only thing I ever suffer from is allergies.
It all started back in November when I had this creature tear her way out of me.
haha. Ok, so that’s not really one of my maladies. I just thought it would be funny to say.
No, it really all began in late December, when I had an awful case of food poisoning. During this time, I wanted to die. And I literally cried for my mommy. Every time I’m sick I want my mom. Without fail. Which is why if I ever move out of Tucson, she’s coming with me.
Then in January, I had appendicitis. Which was a little less fun than the food poisoning.
And then in February I had mastitis. Now, when you just read about mastitis it sounds like a bummer, but not a big deal. But holy man. It sucked. And my mom was out of town.
It started with a little bit of soreness in my breast, and it was at this point my dad had just dropped Max off, and he asked me if he should stay since I was in a little bit of pain. I said nah, I got this. No biggie. Not 15 minutes after he left though, the pain got much more intense, and then I got the chills and started shaking uncontrollably. I decided it would be best to put in a movie for Max because there was no way I could function at this point. Abby played on her jungle play mat like a perfect little baby for over an hour, while I slowly died on the couch. Jeff skipped his tattoo appointment that night so he could rush home and take care of me. He took my temperature when he got home and it was at 102 and went as high as 104. The signs all pointed towards mastitis, a breast infection, which you need antibiotics for. So my dad came back over and took me to Urgent Care. I really wanted to avoid Urgent Care and just hit my doctor in the morning, but it would have been a miserable night. It was a pretty quick and painless trip, if only it didn’t cost so darn much though. yesh.
The next two days I was really red and sore, but it cleared up pretty quickly. The flu-like symptoms went away by the next morning, thank goodness.
So now we’re in a new month and I am hoping that some new illness doesn’t befall me. I’m heading back to work on Monday, and I’d really like to stay healthy.
Knock on wood.
